Giving, since time immemorial, has been regarded as a noble act. Why? Givers never lack! But what I've seen has convinced me that not all givings produce good results.In the past, I used to wonder if all acts of giving are worth the effort, and if some don't just aggravate the problem that the giving was meant to lessen, in the first place.
The answer isn't far-fetched, though- Thank God for that.
Feel free to give after considering the following:
MUST BE FROM YOUR HEART
There are people who exploit others by injecting feelings of guilt into others. Just to get something from them. This is unfair. If you don't feel right about it, don't do it to please.
MUST NOT INCOVENIENCE THE GIVER TOO MUCH
If you have to help someone, you don't have to harm yourself. It is unwise to, by trying to help someone with their load, carry it with yours until you get weighed down. Love your neighbours as yourself, not more than yourself. And what we want to become are saints, not matyrs.
IF IT ACCOMPLISHES A NOBLE MISSION
I know people who started begging since they were little. These people still do. Yes, now adults, and they still beg. There are some people who don't care about working. They just believe they could make enough from begging. Now, why should you give, if not to do your part in taking people from the shameful state of begging. The truth is, many would still beg if they become millionaires. It's just in their blood. Why give someone who wouldn't use it well, when there are in NEED of it, and would USE it wisely?
IT DOESN'T PUT YOU AT A COSTLY RISK
Believe me, many people have found themselves in situations so ugly they've never imagined it, just because they wanted to 'render help.' I would have said, ask them. But some are no more to tell the tales, their gifts took their lives. Be careful. Give, and watch!
