Aloha, Amigo!
How has the day
been over there? Hope you are holding up just fine (If so, thanks be to God.
Lol! That was how we used to write our informal letter back in the days.).
Anyway, in all things we give thanks. My day? Oh, thought you wouldn’t ask! My
day has been surprisingly great, thank you.
In the past
week, I have had a lot instances when my beliefs have been shaken. However, I
stand taller than ever today. One big thing you get to enjoy when your
self-esteem is up-to-date. I'm
feeling good, Mate!
We have been
talking about Self-Esteem in the last few posts. I have even decided that,
after we have done justice to the series, I would employ much other leverage to
make sure this reaches as much audiences possible. Trust me; I am optimistic
about reaching more people and touching more lives with this series.
You should do
your part by sharing this post and others in the series. Heck, why not just
share the heck out of the whole blog altogether? I'm thanking you in advance.
You can thank me later. You will see. Let us return to the topic, though.
Following the
first two steps mentioned in the first post, you would find below some other
ways to improve your self-esteem. These are actually more complicated than the
previous ones, but that is just that – it may be complicated but it is not
impossible.
This is where
you need to open your mind as, compared to the last post, this is a bigger
deal. Let us do this, amigo. I know we can!
[Have you read
the last post containing the previous keys? They are the basics and you should
enjoy them. In case you haven’t read the previous keys, click here now.]
3. REMEMBER
Now is the time
to remember at least three (3) times you had felt really great in the recent past.
It could be that time when you did something great and people were praising
you. Or maybe that time you did something you considered completely normal,
just for others to see it and exclaim it is totally wonderful.
That time you
did something others had been trying to do for some time, but had not really
been making headway. That time you proposed an idea, and it was just what
everyone had been waiting for – That messianic, problem-solving key, which was
entirely your idea – Your idea, your own idea!
You know that
feeling that follows such experience. It does not matter the setting or the
situation. Just the fact that you have been a source of awesomeness everyone
had been waiting for has this FantaFab way of making you feel like a Boss; Like
you rule the world. That is the Mantra of this blog, after all. Striking the
Balance, Ruling the world….
Have you been
able to remember some of them? I am talking about those really FantaFab
feeling-great moments. How many of those moments do you have ready now? Remember,
I said we need at least three (3) of them. We are about to make use of them.
Are you ready? I know I am!

4. VISUALIZE
Now that you
could remember those moments (By now, I believe you should have been
overwhelmed by a mind-full of those), let us put them to use. Take the most
recent, freshest strongest one of the moments and do the following.
- Try to recall how it happened,
viewing it with your eyes and dwelling in your body. Let me explain that.
What the whole gobbledygook is about, in essence, is that you should
picture the event and scene just the way you viewed it that day.
- Note how you started the act,
whatever it is. Let us use a powerful speech as an example. So, you
delivered that very edutaining speech, and everyone was looking at you as
if they want to eat you up. Imagine that feeling.
So, you ended whatever the speech was about and got a standing
ovation. Wow! That feeling is an incredible one, right? Hey wait, don’t give up
if you do not have a powerful speech to remember.
Just remember any thing you did that gained approval and acceptance
from people. It could even be a joke that left everyone’s ribs cracking. Just
remember and visualize.

Applying The Pressure |
- Apply the Pressure Method; You
know, the one where you apply pressure to one part of you body and make
that part associate the pressure with the pleasure from the feel-good
factor.
The pressure part is important because there are some times in life
when we just have to push ourselves; that time when our person needs the
reminder – the Reassurance.
5. WITNESS
Now, this is
very similar to visualizing – just not exactly the same. And yes, this is more
Advanced. You may find it more tasking but I can assure you that the reward is well
worth the whole work. No pain, no Gain, right?
Onward Ho!
Follow the
following steps, (which are, not surprisingly, similar to the Visualize key
above):
- Try to recall how it happened:
Yeah, just like the last time – but this time you view it, not through
your eyes, but through the eyes of an imaginary third party. Does that
sound like another set of Jargon? Not again!
Anyway, what I am saying is that, imagine there is someone there
with you. Someone other than you, who are the first person, and those praising
and appreciating you, these people being the second person.
Now, imagine you just happened to be there at that time. And you
were witnessing YOURSELF giving that powerful speech and the others as they
were enjoying you. Do you still find this tough? Do not worry; you would
understand now:
Imagine your ghost coming out of your body as you recall that great
moment (You need to employ your mind power here. It is important.). Imagine
your ghost left your body and went a few meters away from that place. No, you
didn’t die joor. You were still
performing the whole acrobatics and those people were still enjoying you.
- Note how you started the act,
whatever it is. Let us use a powerful speech as an example. So, you
delivered that very edutaining speech, and everyone was looking at you as
if they want to eat you up. Imagine that feeling.
So, you ended whatever the speech was about and got a standing
ovation. Now, your ghost watches on as the event unfolds and sees how you act.
The ghost (Or call it Spirit, if that makes you more comfortable and less
wired.) takes note of all those things and observed how you felt as people
appreciated what you did.
Take your time on this step until you see yourself very clearly.
That is why I advised you use a mirror in the last post, so that you could
become very familiar with how you look, plus your structure and physique. Trust
me, this exercise is the bomb!
- Apply the Pressure Method; You
know, the one where you apply pressure to one part of you body and make
that part associate the pressure with the pleasure from the feel-good
factor. Apply it very well this time and make sure your body connects the
pressure with the pleasure. Ahem! *Clears Throat*
N.B: You take one event at
a time to run the three keys above. That is, you Remember one recent event ‘A’,
Visualize the event ‘A’, and Witness that event ‘A’. After following that
sequence to perfection, you can then move to event ‘B’, and on and on (World
without end, Amen.)
That is about
that, folks! Easy, isn’t it? Well, maybe a little complex at a stage. However,
as you can see, it is not impossible.
It is fun,
actually. By the time you follow that sequence twice, give or take one, you
would have mastered the act. In fact you can get to a stage where you do not
ever need the pressure. And Finally…
... The stage where you might not need this process.
Oh, What a Life!
Aku Cinta Kamu, Amigo!
Aloha!
In Your Court: What
Practical Process do you go through to strengthen your self-esteem? How
effective is it? If you have tried the steps above, how has it been? Feel free
to share. In case you haven’t, why not go back to the post, practice the keys,
and comment the initial experience. The World is waiting…
If there is a
question you have too, whatever it is, drop it in the comment box. Ama get back
to you!
Hey Fab!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog for the first time. I really enjoyed this post. I use this technique when I play football. I have a list of when i've done really well in the past and then I recall those memories by using the pressure method you've described. It's works really well for me.
I'm going to work through your method and use it next time I play. Thanks for the post
All the best
Wow, Nice having you here, Rhydian. When you described your experience with the technique, I was actually able to visualise and witness it too. It ia such a great feeling. Welcome here. Hoping to see more of you.
